FAST-Infra at COP31: Six Sessions on Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructure

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content,

add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Vsadsadsdasdasdasdasdoila!

COP31 will bring together 100,000 participants from 197 Parties to Antalya, Türkiye, from 9 to 20 November 2026.

FAST-Infra will take part in six sessions between 9 and 17 November 2026. The sessions cover decarbonisation, resilient infrastructure finance, resilient cities, urban heat and water resilience, climate adaptation, and last-mile electrification. The programme aligns with the COP31 Action Agenda, including its priorities on climate-resilient cities, clean energy, and finance.

The world needs a new generation of high-quality, sustainable, and resilient infrastructure: infrastructure that enables human and economic development, protects the planet, and is economically viable. Standards such as the FAST-Infra Label create common ground in the market, allowing the scale-up of the infrastructure the world needs.

At COP31, the FAST-Infra team will present results and build new solutions with partners.

Sessions

9 November 2026 | Three-Quarters Unbuilt: Decarbonising Infrastructure for 1.5°C

16:45 to 18:15 | Side Event Room White, COP31 Blue Zone | Official UNFCCC Side Event

Architecture 2030 leads this session with GIB and RICS, examining how to measure and cut emissions across the infrastructure lifecycle. Roger Cruz, GIB, will explain how standards such as the FAST-Infra label create a common language in the market and support infrastructure assets globally in managing their emissions.

Speakers also include Dr Samantha Stratton-Short, UNOPS, RICS, and Bentley, with Yasemin Kologlu, Architecture 2030, moderating.

12 November 2026 | From Ambition to Investment: Developing and Financing High-Quality, Sustainable, and Resilient Infrastructure

14:00 to 15:30 | IDFC Pavilion, COP31 Blue Zone | Pavilion Event

FAST-Infra hosts this session, built around one illustrative case: a USD 300 million upgrade of a flood-exposed urban water and drainage system, with a resilience premium of around 10% of CAPEX. Each panellist will set out what they need to see in data, contract terms, or standards before committing, and who should pay for the resilience premium.

13 November 2026 | Increasing climate resilience through integrated urban heat and water resource management

13:10 to 14:10 | Antalya, venue to be confirmed | 21st Global Forum on Human Settlements

Nathalie Gaullier, GIB, will present at the forum’s first thematic session, exploring solutions for climate resilience of cities and the use of standards.

13 November 2026 | Resilient Cities: Aligning Subnational Action, Standards and Finance for Resilient Infrastructure

15:30 to 16:30 | COP Cities, Buildings and Cooling Pavilion, COP31 Blue Zone | Pavilion Event

RICS leads this session with ICLEI and GIB. Governments, MDBs, DFIs, financiers, insurers, and developers will share replicable cases and work towards the common standards that make resilient infrastructure investable.

16 November 2026 | Building and Adapting Resilient Infrastructure for a Changing Climate

9:30 to 11:00 | Pavilion France, COP31 Blue Zone | Pavilion Event

EDF leads this session with FAST-Infra and GIB. The panel will discuss how to finance resilient infrastructure, assess its climate vulnerability, and manage dependencies between systems. The session will present the FAST-Infra Label, which brings more than 100 guidelines, taxonomies, and frameworks into one assessment, alongside the ACT Adaptation framework from ADEME and the ACT Initiative.

17 November 2026 | Making Electrification Viable: The Energy Transition of Last-Mile Networks

11:30 to 13:00 | Universal Postal Union (UPU) Pavilion | Pavilion Event

Nathalie Gaullier, GIB, will contribute to this session, co-organised by the UPU, ITU, WIPO, UNIDO, and the ICT Authority of Türkiye (BTK).

Blue Zone sessions are open to accredited participants. Full details are on the official COP31 website.

About FAST-Infra

Finance to Accelerate the Sustainable Transition in Infrastructure (FAST-Infra) brings together the infrastructure and finance community to scale sustainable infrastructure and mobilise the investment needed to deliver it. Its purpose is to make sustainable infrastructure the global standard. FAST-Infra develops practical solutions to the different barriers to scaling sustainable infrastructure through three complementary initiatives: FAST-Infra Beyond, the FAST-Infra Platform, and the FAST-Infra Label, which gives the market a common framework for sustainable infrastructure.

The FAST-Infra Label is a consistent, globally applicable labelling system designed to identify and evaluate sustainable infrastructure projects, with the overarching objective of supporting infrastructure as a deep and liquid asset class. Developers can start with a self-assessment and progress to third-party verification. Find out how to get the FAST-Infra Label.
