1. Humanising Sustainable Infrastructure: How it Works for Business?

  • Date and time: 02.02.2026, 16:05 GMT
  • Speakers:
    • Prof. Dr. Pedro Mateus das Neves, Founder & CEO of Global Solutions 4U
    • Edwin Lau, Head of the OECD Blue Dot Network Secretariat
    • Richard Threlfall, Former Global Head, KPMG
    • Morgane Huchet, Business Development Lead, FAST-Infra Label
  • Event description:
    • Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) are increasingly recognised as strategic instruments for shaping how sustainable infrastructure is planned, financed, and delivered. Beyond financing, PPPs influence institutional accountability, lifecycle performance, and long-term public value, embedding sustainability, climate resilience, and social inclusion directly into project outcomes. When structured with strong governance, clear performance metrics, and transparent frameworks, PPPs ensure that capital mobilisation aligns with public interest and that infrastructure investments deliver measurable societal benefits throughout their lifecycle. This debate will explore how PPPs can act as governance tools to balance private sector incentives with climate action, inclusive service provision, and trust between authorities, investors, and communities.

2. OECD BDN Network & FAST-Infra Joint Session

  • Speakers:

    • Eng. Atter Hannoura, Director of PPP Central Unit, Ministry of Finance Egypt
    • Günay Gökçen, Country Director Türkiye, Meridiam
  • Event description:
    • Independent verification of infrastructure projects can play a key role in assuring the success of PPP strategies by providing transparent and standardized assessments of infrastructure project quality. By certifying that infrastructure projects are meeting the highest global standards of quality, sustainability, and resilience, independent verification supports PPP units both upstream -- by providing a checklist of criteria and risk mitigation arrangements that respond to the expectations of concessional finance and of sustainable investors, as well as downstream -- by creating the measures, incentives and reporting to reassure investors of the focus on quality across the infrastructure lifecycle. The Blue Dot Network and the FAST-Infra are co-organising this session to explore with PPP units how independent verification can support countries’ PPP strategies to help attract private investment and to link infrastructure projects with government objectives and commitments.
